Barbara Brehm was born in Kleve in Germany. She studied and lived in the Netherlands for a little over 25 years. Until recently she practiced as a licensed therapist for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Amsterdam.
She graduated from Qing-Bai Academy in both Acupuncture and Tuina Massage Therapy after a three-year theoretical and practical training.
She is a graduate of Bo Yi Academy in the Netherlands where she completed a two-year training in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
She completed a one-year training in Basic Western Medicine.
She regularly attends seminars to update her knowledge, such as the Pacific Symposium of Oriental Medicine in San Diego at various times. Since September 2016 she is enrolled in a TCM diploma course in Practical Dermatology at Five Branches University in San Jose, CA.
Barbara holds a massage license file no. 156974 from the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering and Advisory Board on Massage Therapy. She has applied for her certificates to be accepted for a national board license of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Before becoming a therapist in Chinese Medicine Barbara obtained a Master’s degree in Communication Science from the Catholic University in Nijmegen in the Netherlands. She worked as a project manager for the ministry of Transport in The Hague and the City of Amsterdam, and later as a freelance consultant for different public service organizations.
